Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) in Austin, TX, is seeking a CPU Performance Team Lead to guide the next-generation performance analysis and optimization for AMD’s CPU cores.

You will manage a geographically distributed senior team, shaping performance strategies and mentoring engineers to deliver results on schedule. You will collaborate with Core Architecture and RTL, own end-to-end performance, and communicate progress to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Extensive CPU performance analysis and optimization experience with large teams.
• Experience across CPU performance areas: investigation, architecture, modeling, analysis, validation.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
• Influence senior decision-making and represent the org in forums.
• Analytical problem-solving with fast learning and decision timing.
• Hands-on with ISAs: x86-64, Armv8/Armv9, or RISC-V.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end ownership of the performance analysis and optimization for AMD’s CPU Cores.
• Partner with Core Architecture and RTL teams to deliver a high-performance CPU core that meets or exceeds program objectives.
• Manage performance modeling and analysis requirements across the entire AMD CPU Core roadmap.
• Represent the Performance Team and report regular progress towards program goals.
• Communicate program, organization, and company updates to the team.
