CPS Systems Engineer (Onsite, DC)

Job summary

VTG seeks a Mid to Senior level Systems Engineer for the CPS program in Washington, DC to provide engineering support to engineers and SMEs. On-site at the Washington Navy Yard with occasional telework, you will engage across multiple disciplines including electrical, mechanical, and flight systems.

The role requires knowledge of CM, CAD, CFD/FEA, and system integration, with strong communication for reviews and program offices. Candidates must be US citizens and willing to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years experience or Master's with 2+ years; or 8+ years in the task area.
• US Citizenship required.
• MS Office proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Familiar with CM practices and AutoCAD for designs.
• Experience with CFD/FEA, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
• Knowledge across Electrical/Mechanical Design, Navigation, Guidance & Control.
• Travel up to 10% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design studies and evaluations across R&D, production and ops.
• Provide technical advice on documentation submissions for CPS program.
• Support problem definition, requirements development and implementation for complex systems.
• Assess system development, improvements and optimization.
• Perform risk assessments using modeling/simulation.
• Prepare technical briefings and papers for reviews and boards.
• Collaborate with CPS stakeholders and Government teams.
