The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services in Laredo seeks a CPS Family Based Safety Services Supervisor I/II to oversee protective services operations, staff performance, and case management. This full-time exempt role coordinates daily activities to ensure safety and permanency for children and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field; required for supervisory roles.
• 3 years of full-time experience in Child Protective Services or child placement services.
• In-depth knowledge of agency policies and procedures; experience with casework is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans and manages unit operations to achieve goals for service delivery.
• Selects and develops staff through field visits, performance data review, and training.
• Interprets program policy to staff, families, and stakeholders.
• Evaluates unit performance to ensure compliance with policy and service control requirements.
• Maintains effective relationships with CPS, boards, courts, and community resources.
• Makes casework decisions regarding removal and placement of children; coordinates with legal offices.
