Job summary

State of Maine seeks a Child Protective Services Casework Supervisor in Sanford to lead a team of caseworkers and support staff in protecting children and ensuring safe, permanent homes.

You will direct investigations, staff development, and service delivery while coordinating with community resources and agencies to improve outcomes for families in crisis. A licensure as an LSW is required, with a master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Recent professional child welfare casework experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of MACWIS/Katahdin is preferred.
• LSW licensure required or obtained.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, direct, and monitor caseworkers and staff in child protection, adoption, and substitute care.
• Assess and assign case loads and provide guidance on cases and service delivery.
• Coordinate with other agencies to secure resources and monitor cooperation agreements.
• Review staff performance to identify training needs and improve outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and participate in hearings as needed.
