Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) seeks a CPI Investigation Specialist I to perform initial investigations of abuse/neglect allegations in the field. The role involves crisis response, data collection, and collaboration with law enforcement and medical staff.

The position supports families while prioritizing child safety and well-being. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and willingness to travel up to 60%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree OR equivalent combination as described in the screening criteria.
• Experience in social, human, or protective services is preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% and operate in mobile units/outside office.

Responsibilities

• Responds quickly in crisis situations involving children.
• Conducts forensic investigations of reports of abuse/neglect to determine outcomes.
• Interviews involved parties and assesses family situations.
• Maintains records and complies with agency policies and procedures.
• Attends work regularly and travels to homes/offices as required.
