Job summary

Project Renewal, a leading NYC social services nonprofit, seeks a Training Specialist to deliver CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training to staff and to support ongoing learning programs. The role includes coaching, maintaining training records in Relias LMS, and traveling to multiple NYC sites for onsite sessions.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of training experience in human services; CPI certification is preferred or can be earned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in training/learning in human services.
• Experience with homelessness, mental illness, or substance use disorders preferred.
• CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Instructor certification preferred; willing to certify if needed.
• Experience using a Learning Management System (Relias or similar) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training to staff per CPI standards.
• Provide follow-up training, coaching, and de-escalation support agency-wide.
• Maintain CPI training records; assist with scheduling, tracking, and renewals.
• Travel to Project Renewal sites to provide on-site CPI and other trainings.
• Occasionally work later shifts (10am–6pm or 11am–7pm) up to two days/month.
• Support Relias LMS administration: records, course assignments, and reporting.
• Develop/adapt training materials with the Senior Director of Training & Development.
• Facilitate in-person and virtual workshops on topics like Trauma-Informed Care and Time Management.
• Participate in weekly supervision with the Senior Director of Training & Development.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
