Job summary

CASES is seeking a Training Instructor to deliver CPI Verbal and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention trainings to CASES staff. The role is full-time in NYC, with a salary of $75,000 per year, and requires travel between CASES offices.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience with teaching or group facilitation.
• At least 2 years of experience working with participants/clients in behavioral health, social services, or criminal legal systems.
• Strong organization and self-motivation; able to manage time independently.
• Ability to perform CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention movements as required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver CPI training to CASES staff in participant-facing roles on initial and refresher basis.
• Update and customize training materials in consultation with the senior director of training for different staff groups.
• Maintain enrollment, attendance, and certification records in CASES LMS and CPI portal.
• Create training schedules, notify staff, and coordinate access to materials and location.
• Coordinate with CPI instructors to maintain a robust pool of instructors for all training dates.
• Collaborate with the data team to ensure documentation standards and reporting of training completions.
• Seek ongoing learning to deliver up-to-date de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques, maintaining CPI instructor certification.
• Support learners inside and outside training rooms to ensure understanding and proficiency.
