Job description

CPA Community Resource and Engagement Specialist

Full-Time

Essential Functions

- Develops a fiscal year recruitment plan
- Requires statewide coordination of foster parent recruitment and retention
- Provides monthly updates to the recruitment plan and monthly report on activities
- Recruits foster and adoptive families through speaking engagements, community awareness events and building community partnerships/relationships
- Coordinates and collaborates with CPA staff to conduct recruitment activities
- Maintains visible, productive working relationships with community partners
- Participates in team meetings, including CPA all-staff meetings, Recruitment Team meetings as well as other internal meetings as needed
- Attends DCF Diligent Recruitment meetings and aligns with target areas for recruitment including foster families to support teenagers that display significant behavior/needs
- Averages recruitment of one new family a month that serves high-needs youth, 12 families serving high-needs youth per year
- Develops resources for recruitment activities
- Assists administration by linking and coordinating foster families and staff with needed community resources, events and services statewide
- Fosters positive relationships with staff and foster families with the intention of reducing barriers of those we serve
- Provides individual assistance to staff and foster families to access and utilize community resources
- Assesses, documents and monitors utilization of resources, events and services
- Serves as a liaison between staff and resources to promote a collaborative process in accessing resources
- Communicate and updates resources statewide in partnership with the Communications team utilizing the website, Facebook, Mailchimp and other technologies
- Updates and tracks information on DonorPerfect software
- Coordinates with other DCCCA programs to ensure efficiencies and effectiveness
- Coordinates with CPA to host DCCCA events including Foster Parent Appreciation, support groups, and other activities
- Requires travel and work hours to include evenings and weekends
- Maintains regular contact with supervisor
- Creates a safe environment by performing all required security and safety procedures
- Assists in orientation to program rules/structure and regulations
- Requires the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Job may require the employee to be able to regularly drive to various DCCCA locations and other business locations throughout the state that can include early morning and evening traveling hours

Education, Experience, and Licensure

- Requires a high school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
- Requires at least two years of experience in child welfare and/or family services; marketing experience preferred
- Requires a detailed understanding of foster parenting
- Must possess a valid state Driver's License, in force automobile liability insurance, and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets organization's insurability standard as defined by DCCCA policy. Availability of reliable transportation is required for this position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Effective listening, oral, and written communication skills, including face-to-face, on-site, in person discussions. Exercises appropriate use of positive language.

- Regular and predictable on-site attendance.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft suite of products including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to efficiently operate other office equipment such as telephones, voicemail systems, copy and fax machines, and scanners.

Travel
This position requires travel, which may include driving personal or company-owned vehicles. It may also include driving with other passengers in the vehicle, and/or driving as a passenger with other drivers. Note: Even with a valid driver's license, certain motor vehicle infractions may render individual's ineligible to drive company-owned or personal vehicles for company business. Such infractions may also disqualify employees from continued employment with DCCCA, Inc. This position is considered to be a safety-sensitive position.
