Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years in space planning, furniture layout design, commercial property management, or project coordination for a commercial furniture dealership.
• Proficiency using AutoCAD to modify 2D floor plans and layouts.
• Strong written and verbal communication to present designs to judicial officers and coordinate moves.
• Must meet federal judiciary citizenship/employment eligibility requirements (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident actively seeking citizenship).
• Position subject to FBI background check.
• Moderate travel required.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and stand for periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Develops detailed AutoCAD space plans, furniture configurations, and material finish schedules for judges’ chambers, courtroom modernizations, and office reconfigurations.
• Prepares design options (fabrics, finishes, acoustic treatments) for furnishings aligned with the U.S. Courts Design Guide.
• Collaborates on reviewing architectural blueprints and vendor drawings.
• Coordinates furniture deliveries, installation crews, and office moves.
• Prepares project funding requests, uses government purchasing contracts, obtains quotes, drafts purchase orders, tracks expenditures.
• Maintains a master furniture inventory, fabric sample libraries, and finish standards databases.
