Personnel Board of Jefferson County is seeking a Bailiff/Court Security professional to support court operations and safeguard visitors, staff, and detainees within courthouse and courtroom settings.

The role includes preparing courtrooms, guarding prisoners, screening entrants, and handling paperwork from cases, with competitive benefits and a clear progression through Merit System agencies.

Qualificações

• Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to legally carry a firearm where permitted.
• Willing to obtain pepper spray certification within 90 days if required.
• Willing to work in a potentially hostile environment.
• Willingness to use physical restraint when needed.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare, maintain, and retrieve files to aid court officers during sessions.
• Prepare courtrooms for hearings and manage defendant flow per procedures.
• Provide customer service via phone, email or in person.
• Stay informed on procedures, laws, policies and guidelines.
• Provide security to judges and attendees, enforcing rules for safety.
• Announce court sessions and explain procedures to attendees.
• Answer calls to provide general information and route messages.
• Escort and restrain individuals as directed to de-escalate situations.
