Job summary

The Riverside County Sheriff's Office has an opportunity for multiple Court Deputies throughout Riverside County.

Incumbents will serve as a peace officer responsible for maintaining security in the Superior Courts of the County of Riverside, maintaining order in the courts, providing assistance to the judges, assisting in the service of civil and criminal documents, and performing other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED/Proficiency certificate.
• Possession of a California Driver's License.
• P.O.S.T. Basic/Intermediate/Advanced Certificate or completion of POST Basic Academy.
• Must be a U.S. citizen by time of appointment and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain security in Superior Court and enforce court rules.
• Respond to judges' requests for assistance and manage juror proceedings.
• Take defendants into custody and arrange transportation for court/ jury.
• Deliver legal papers and assist in processing court paperwork when needed.
• Transport inmates to and from courtroom and detention facility.
