Job summary

The Deschutes County Circuit Court in Bend, Oregon, is hiring a Court Recorder (Court Operations Associate). You will record court proceedings, monitor the recording system, and create detailed log notes while assisting with setup for conferencing and multimedia needs.

You will also swear in witnesses and jurors, prepare jury seating charts, verify payments, and handle real-time data entry and document preparation.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of responsible experience in a moderately complex office or in processing documents.
• Ability to use various software programs to access/input information, manage calendars, and verify payments.
• Experience multitasking by listening and typing simultaneously and logging events in real time.
• Experience providing customer service to diverse individuals in challenging circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Record court proceedings and monitor recording equipment; create detailed log notes.
• Set up video/telephone conferencing and manage multimedia tasks.
• Swear in witnesses and jurors; prepare jury seating charts and attendance.
• Prepare various orders, judgments, documents, and forms; process and return exhibits.
• Coordinate with county offices, state agencies, and Oregon State Hospital; train and back up Judicial Assistant.
