Job summary

Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court seeks a Bailiff Security (U) to ensure courthouse safety and smooth court operations in Rio Rancho, NM. This at-will, full-time role requires alertness, professional conduct, and the ability to respond to incidents during hearings.

The Bailiff will monitor security equipment, escort jurors when needed, assist judges, and coordinate with law enforcement on inmate transportation. Training is provided for court procedures.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 1 year in security, law enforcement, or legal setting; 6 months in security/law enforcement.
• Security training provided for court operations.

Responsibilities

• Identify and deter suspicious activities and contraband.
• Maintain courtroom order and assist judges, jurors, and parties.
• Set up and manage courtroom during hearings and trials.
• Coordinate inmate transport with law enforcement.
• Assist attorneys with equipment needs for hearings.
• Manage exhibits and evidence custody.
• Support juror procedures and time records.
