Job summary

The Thirteenth Judicial District Court in Rio Rancho, NM seeks a full-time Bailiff Security (U) to safeguard courtrooms under the Judge’s direction. The position is at-will and requires adherence to security procedures and courtroom protocol.

Finalists may undergo criminal background checks and will work with law enforcement on inmate transports. Responsibilities include monitoring security, assisting judges and jurors, handling exhibits, and supporting special court events.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: 1 year in security, law enforcement, or legal setting.

Responsibilities

• Identify and deter suspicious activities and contraband.
• Ensure proper courtroom behavior and assist Judges, jurors, and parties.
• Coordinate with law enforcement for inmate transport.
• Assist in document flow between Judges and attorneys.
• Train and support other bailiffs.
• Announce Judge's entrance and maintain courtroom decorum.
