Responsibilities:
- Bag groceries at checkout efficiently, aiming for at least five items per bag while preventing damage.
- Follow best practices for bagging in various types of bags (reusable, plastic, paper).
- Assist in removing customer's merchandise from baskets for checkout.
- Offer to help customers load bags into their cars.
- Perform basic shelf conditioning and restocking.
- Inform customers of grocery specials.
- Return merchandise to store shelves and gather shopping carts for return.
- Maintain cleanliness by cleaning spills, collecting trash inside the store and parking lot, and cleaning all areas inside and outside the store.
- Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
- Understand store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
- Reinforce safety programs by following procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Inspect equipment regularly and report repair needs.
- Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering questions about products.
- Comply with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
