Core Responsibilities

Ensure customer satisfaction by promptly and accurately bagging purchased items quickly, efficiently, and intact, while delivering excellent front-end service.

• Bagging & Vehicle Loading: Bag groceries quickly and efficiently without damaging items, adhering to proper bagging standards. Transport and load groceries into vehicles for customers needing assistance.
• Front-End & Register Support: Retrieve shopping carts from parking/sidewalk areas, remove trash, and keep carts available for shoppers. Replace, retrieve, or price-check items for Cashiers and customers, and assist with unloading items at check stands.
• Store Cleaning & Restocking: Perform regular floor sweeps, respond to "mess calls," and clean restrooms, parking lots, and store front-ends daily. Refill bag supplies at check stands, return unwanted/damaged items to proper locations, and restock beer cases as needed.
• Customer Engagement: Greet, thank, offer assistance, and meet customer needs with local hospitality. Study and explain store specials, ads, and promotions to customers.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

• Environment: Frequently work indoors in an air-conditioned building that may be noisy or dusty with high customer/co-worker volume. Occasionally work outdoors in varying weather conditions (hot, humid, rainy, volcanic haze/vog) to sweep parking lots, retrieve carts, and assist customers to their cars.
• Physical Effort: Continuously stand, reach, handle, and use fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination when bagging. Frequently push, pull, lift, and carry up to 40 lbs when handling groceries, and bend or crouch to clean or retrieve items from under carts. Occasionally push/pull up to 100 lbs when retrieving shopping carts or moving display racks. Seldom climb ladders.
• Equipment Use: Frequently use paper, plastic, or reusable bags, shopping carts, brooms, dustpans, mops, and cleaning solutions. Seldom use case cutters, ladders, or stock wagons.
• Safety: Continuously wear a back support belt while performing all job duties.

Qualifications: What You Bring

• Age Requirements:
  • Must be at least 16 years of age to use a case cutter.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to operate a trash baler, freight elevator, or power-driven equipment.
• Skills & Knowledge: Basic math skills, multi-tasking abilities, clear oral and written communication skills, and the capability to work effectively under minimal supervision. Knowledge of store promotions and product locations is required to assist shoppers effectively.
• Work Habits: Friendly, cheerful, patient, service-oriented demeanor. Punctual, detail-oriented, honest, and committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and pleasant environment.
• Availability: General availability 7 days a week and holidays, typically between 6:45 AM and 9:30 PM.
