Job summary

The State of Maine Judicial Branch is seeking a detail-oriented SC/VB Assistant Clerk in Androscoggin County, Lewiston Service Center. This role supports a high-volume call center and requires strong customer service, clerical accuracy, and knowledge of court procedures.

The position offers partial remote work after training, a starting hourly pay of $21.41–$22.50, and opportunities to work with the court system across Maine.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or GED.
• Experience providing customer service and/or clerical work and/or office administration required.
• Experience responding to customer inquiries using various software and databases preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicates effectively with the public, judges/attorneys, litigants and agencies.
• Answers incoming phone calls for the trial courts and Violations Bureau daily.
• Uses MEJIS, Enterprise Justice, and other systems to respond to inquiries.
• Maintains accurate records and processes data entry, docketing and revenue collection.
• Prepares juror correspondence and manages jury records.
