Job summary

The Maine Judicial Branch is seeking a detail-oriented SC/VB Assistant Clerk in Androscoggin County, Lewiston Service Center. The role combines call-center duties with clerical support for the Violations Bureau and trial court operations.

Starting pay ranges from $21.41 to $22.50 per hour, with higher pay grades up to $28.96 per hour as Grade 9. Partial remote work may be available after training, and benefits are extensive.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in customer service preferred.
• Experience with court or government software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming phone calls for the trial courts, Violations Bureau and Administrative Office of the Courts.
• Use court case management systems (MEJIS, Enterprise Justice) to respond to inquiries.
• Provide accurate information and assist the public with sensitive questions while maintaining confidentiality.
• Support courtroom operations, including remote proceedings and equipment as needed.
• Process high volumes of data entry, docketing, and revenue handling for the Service Center/Violations Bureau.
