Job summary

constelliscareers is seeking a Court Security Officer to protect federal court facilities in the United States. You will patrol, monitor access, and conduct surveillance under US Marshals Service contract, with duties including escorting critical personnel and enforcing post orders.

Requirements include 3 years of law enforcement experience or equivalent military service, English fluency, and successful completion of required training and background checks. Union position with varied shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• 3 years verifiable civilian law enforcement experience or equivalent military law enforcement with arrest authority.
• Completed certified law enforcement training academy.
• Pre-placement screening including background check and disclosures.
• Pass background check, drug test and physical exam.
• Valid, unrestricted state driver’s license.
• Fluent English reading, speaking and writing.
• Medical/physical fitness requirements must be met.
• Felony-free and no DV misdemeanor convictions per 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(9).

Responsibilities

• Enforce the District's entry and identification system.
• Test and report emergency equipment.
• Patrol court facilities and grounds per post orders.
• Man USMS authorized stationary posts.
• surveil entrances to detect threats before screening.
• Provide armed escort services for judges and court personnel when needed.
• Provide security for off-site judicial functions.
• Direct traffic and monitor access and movements as directed.
• Provide courtroom security during hearings when assigned.
• Maintain security presence in court, enforce federal law and orders.
• Log and report incidents and complete CSO-003 within 24 hours.
• Inform supervisors of unusual occurrences and events.
• Monitor alarms, radio traffic, and dispatch as needed.
• Report fire/burglar alarms and requests for assistance.
• Screen and inspect vehicles and pedestrians entering or exiting the facility.
• Use equipment properly and prevent loss of government property.
• Escort individuals or vehicles per post orders.
• Maintain required licenses, certifications, and training records.
