Job summary

Constelliscareers is seeking a Court Security Officer (CSO) to provide protective services at federal courthouses under contract with the U.S. Marshals Service.

This union position may involve fixed-post, mobile, or foot patrols, long shifts in austere conditions, and reliance on post orders and facility guidelines. Responsibilities include enforcing entry/ID procedures, patrolling facilities, monitoring alarms, supervising access, and occasionally providing courtroom security.

Qualifications

• 3 years of verifiable civilian law enforcement experience within last 7 years (or equivalent military).
• Completion of an approved law enforcement training academy or program.
• Ability to pass background check, drug test and medical exam.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Fluently read, speak, comprehend and report in English.
• No felony convictions; no domestic violence misdemeanor per US law.

Responsibilities

• Enforce the District's entry and identification system.
• Patrol court facilities and grounds per post orders.
• Provide security for judges, court personnel, jurors and attendees as needed.
• Monitor alarms and RFID systems; report violations.
• Escort individuals or vehicles as required and control access.
• Maintain licensing, certifications and records for legal employment.
