Centerra Group is seeking a Court Security Officer (CSO) to provide protective services at U.S. Federal Courthouses under a USMS contract.

The CSO works under supervision from Lead CSO and District Supervisor, in a union position, performing fixed-post, mobile, or foot patrols and enforcing post orders and facility rules. The role requires monitoring alarms and traffic, directing access, and potentially providing courtroom security or armed escorts.

Formación

• Fluently read, speak, comprehend, and compose coherent written reports in English.
• Must pass criminal background screen, drug test and physical exam.

Responsabilidades

• Enforce the District's entry and identification system.
• Test and report emergency equipment.
• Patrol court facilities and grounds per post orders.
• Man USMS authorized stationary posts.
• Provide focused surveillance on inbound traffic to detect threats.
• May provide armed escort services for judges and court personnel.
• Provide security for off-site judicial functions where access can be controlled.
• Direct traffic and monitor vehicles/pedestrians as per post orders.
• Provide courtroom security during hearings when assigned.
• Maintain security presence in the courtroom and enforce laws and orders.
• Log and report incidents and keep supervisors informed.
• Monitor alarms, radio traffic, and other information sources.
• Dispatch or inform others as needed within authorization.
• Address fire/burglary alarms and requests for assistance and criminal acts.
• Escort individuals or vehicles per post orders and protocols.
• Maintain all licensing, certifications, training and records for legal employment.
• Operate radios, phones, and other devices per rules.
• Guard against loss or damage to equipment and report promptly.
• Perform duties in all weather conditions and various environments.
• Log property pass numbers for authorized movements.
• Ensure security of government property and detain personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular patrols and inspections of buildings and facilities.
• Issue badges or passes to authorized personnel.
• Monitor access control systems and RFID alarms.
• Manage access during non-working hours according to procedures.
