Job summary

Centerra Group is seeking a Court Security Officer (CSO) to provide protective services at U.S. federal courthouses under a USMS contract.

The CSO will perform fixed-post, mobile and foot patrols, maintaining vigilance, following post orders, and ensuring security in court facilities. The role may include escorting judges and court personnel, monitoring access and alarms, and coordinating with supervisors to report incidents.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 21 years old.
• Minimum of 3 years of verifiable civilian law enforcement experience or equivalent military service.
• Must complete background check, drug test and physical exam.
• Possess a valid, unrestricted state driver’s license.
• Fluently read, speak, comprehend, and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Enforce entry and identification system.
• Test and report emergency equipment.
• Patrol court facilities and grounds.
• Man authorized stationary posts.
• Provide surveillance on incoming traffic to detect threats.
• May provide armed escort services for judges and court personnel.
• Provide security for off-site and remote judicial functions.
• Direct traffic and monitor access as per post orders.
• Maintain security presence in courtrooms and enforce federal law.
• Log property movements and report incidents as required.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and preserve evidence when needed.
• Operate radios and monitor alarms and security systems.
• Conduct regular patrols and inspections of buildings and facilities.
