Job summary

Salt Lake County is seeking a skilled Control Room Operator for Courts to monitor and control security access and movements within the jail facilities. The role involves coordinating emergency responses, maintaining logs, and ensuring safety across multiple secure areas.

The position requires two years’ related experience, stringent background checks, and compliance with drug testing policies. Applicants must be able to manage high-stress situations with precision and discretion.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of directly related experience (Law Enforcement, Security, Dispatch, Corrections, etc.).
• Must pass a fingerprint background check and RAP Back enrollment.
• Must pass mandatory drug test and be subject to random testing.

Responsibilities

• Control access for employees, prisoners, visitors, and volunteers.
• Remotely monitor movement within jails and coordinate emergency response.
• Observe prisoners and monitor housing units, booking, visiting areas, and perimeters.
• Respond to alarms, maintain lockdowns, and coordinate with emergency services.
• Receive and dispatch information for callouts and unit commands.
• Monitor recording equipment and ensure video evidence preservation.
