Job summary

Huntingdon County is seeking a Deputy Sheriff to operate under the Sheriff’s supervision, safeguarding life, limb, and property while enforcing laws. You will assist in court security, process civil matters, and support other agencies.

The role includes transporting prisoners, serving warrants, and ensuring safety in court facilities. English proficiency and ability to follow complex procedures are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Deputy Sheriff's training academy (760+ hours) and certification.
• Must qualify in firearms yearly.
• Able to speak and write English effectively; follow complex instructions.

Responsibilities

• Serve the court of common pleas under Sheriff supervision.
• Prevent crime and enforce laws; provide services to Huntingdon County citizens.
• Transport prisoners to and from jail, court, and facilities with custody.
• Serve warrants and court orders; make arrests.
• Provide security for Judge, court, and courthouse facilities; screen entrants.
