Job summary

King County Sheriff's Office is seeking Court Marshals to provide secure, visible presence in courthouses and assigned sites across King County. You will patrol fixed posts, respond to incidents, and support courtroom operations during business hours.

Requirements include graduation from a Washington-certified academy and fluency in English, with U.S. citizenship or eligible status. The role offers full-time civil service employment with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a certified law enforcement academy that meets Washington State standards.
• Ability to read, speak and write English fluently.
• U.S. citizen, LPR or eligible DACA recipient with no significant gaps in service.

Responsibilities

• Maintain courtroom presence and respond to calls for service.
• Make warrant arrests and take defendants into custody on remands.
• Defend security posts, patrol on foot, and document incidents with case reports.
