Job summary

Sjcindiana is seeking a qualified Court Reporter for the Mishawaka Division of St. Joseph County Superior Court. The role supports the judge by accurately recording proceedings, preparing transcripts, and maintaining records in a timely manner.

Requires an Associate Degree in court reporting or captioning, with preferred undergraduate/legal credentials. The position is full-time, non-exempt, with benefits and a December 2026 start date. Working hours are 30 per week, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience as Official Court Reporter is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of court procedures, legal terminology, and transcript preparation.
• Ability to operate stenotype equipment and related office tech.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Record court proceedings accurately as directed by the judge.
• Prepare typewritten transcripts per state format and deadlines.
• Maintain exhibits and logs; organize records and reports.
• Generate transcripts and invoices for transcripts as required.
• Assist with inquiries and liaison between court and public agencies.

Education

Associate degree in court reporting or captioning
