Job summary

DeKalb County seeks a Court Reporter to record verbatim court proceedings, operate stenography and voice-to-text equipment, and ensure confidentiality of all records. You will prepare certified transcripts, proofs, trial indices, and attest to accuracy while handling exhibits and filing documents with the Clerk of Court.

You will also produce digital copies, invoices, and maintain equipment and supplies. Minimum qualifications include an Associate's degree and three years of court reporting

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a related field is required.
• Three years of court reporting experience.
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Takes verbatim recordings of formal or legal proceedings using stenography and voice-to-text equipment.
• Prepares certified transcripts, proofs, indexes, and binds transcripts; maintains confidentiality.
• Manages case exhibits, records, and documents; files with Clerk of Court; produces and archives digital copies.
• Prepares invoices for transcription services and maintains billing records.
• Maintains and services court reporting equipment and supplies.
