Job summary

The Superior Court of the Judicial Branch of Arizona in Maricopa County is seeking an official Court Reporter to provide verbatim reporting of court proceedings and prepare accurate transcripts per ARS Title 32, Chapter 40. Reporters may be assigned to multiple locations across Maricopa County and work in various court departments.

Arizona certification is required by hire, with a sign-on bonus of $3,000. The position requires a high school diploma, valid Arizona driver’s license, and two years

Qualifications

• Two years of professional court reporting experience
• Arizona Certification as a court reporter per A.R.S. Title 32, Chapter 40
• Must obtain/possess a valid Arizona driver's license by time of hire
• Experience transcribing a full range of judicial proceedings
• Certification in real-time reporting preferred

Responsibilities

• Reports courtroom proceedings using stenograph equipment and transcription software
• Reads aloud from stenographic notes when requested
• Prepares transcripts of cases for litigants, attorneys and judges
• Performs transcript research of citations, statutes and terminology
• Edits, proofs, binds and certifies transcripts as true and accurate copies
• Distributes transcripts to appropriate parties
• Maintains and updates dictionary and backup files and equipment
