Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum one year of general business experience.
  • Good computer and data entry skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite preferred.
  • Math and typing skills (minimum 40 WPM).
  • Good verbal and written communication and comprehension skills.
  • Self-starter with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced office.
  • Must be flexible with regard to work assignments and location.
  • Valid Driver's License may be required.
  • Overtime may be required, including weekends.
  • Must have no visible tattoos.

Responsibilities

  • Examine, verify and input data into court computer systems to update information on pending, disposed, microfilmed, criminal, civil and family cases using detailed data entry codes.
  • Researches and analyzes historical data.
  • Verify, process and distribute documents to appropriate locations and print and provide case index; ensure files are complete and in proper order at all times.
  • Use various computer checkout systems and a warehouse inventory index to locate files and reproduce or retrieve files upon request.
  • Verify, analyze and index mass filings of attorney general documents.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and assist/public inquiries or direct to appropriate person.
  • Calculate and collect costs of court and monetary transactions per Texas Code of Criminal Procedure; research monetary transactions and calculate reimbursements by State agencies.
  • Issue Bill of Cost to collect outstanding fees and outline complex costs awarded per court judgment.
  • Issue and track summons, subpoenas, citations, warrants, writs, restraining orders and other documents as prescribed by law and per direction of the District Court.
  • Respond to questions from the public regarding these documents and support department staff as needed.
  • Participate in emergency management duties during local state of disaster as directed.
