Job summary

New Mexico Courts in Aztec, NM, is seeking a Judicial Specialist 2 for a full-time, permanent role. The position involves clerical and technical duties in case processing, jury management, and court operations, with opportunities to work across multiple courts within San Juan County.

A typing test is mandatory, with a minimum of 35 net words per minute. Finalists will undergo criminal background checks; the job may require occasional duties at other district or magistrate court locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience in court processing or related field (legal secretarial, customer service, data processing, banking).
• Typing proficiency score of at least 35 net words per minute required.

Responsibilities

• Open, docket, and close cases using the case management system.
• Provide high-level customer service to the public and attorneys.
• Process and balance cash receipts, filings, and court fees.
• Prepare, proofread, and mail court documents and notices.
• Assist jury management, calendar maintenance, and record-keeping.
