Job Description:

Responsible for maintaining 12 indoor tennis courts, 10 outdoor clay courts, 4 outdoor hard courts, and 6 UVA outdoor tennis courts. This person will also manage the comprehensive seasonal grooming for the spring season of the outdoor clay courts. Additionally, overseeing the complete watering system, including irrigation pumps and sprinkler heads, is essential. The candidate must have the skills to ensure this system operates successfully. Responsibilities include training new team members, designing weekly schedules, tracking all work hours at the UVA outdoor facility, overseeing repairs, and working closely with the Tournament Director and Operations Managers when ordering new tools or replacing worn tools.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Perform duties in accordance with Boar’s Head Mission and Vision statements, Forbes Luxury Standards, and AAA 4 Diamond Service Expectations.
2. Maintain indoor tennis courts by:

• Cleaning with the walk-behind floor washer twice a year.
• Vacuuming as needed, at least three times per week, with the Tenet court sweeper or walk-behind vacuum.
• Emptying trash and picking up balls.
• Providing water and ice using thermos or other provisions.
• Securing nets, inspecting curtains, and picking up balls behind curtains.
• Inspecting behind curtains for safety.
• Maintaining 3 indoor UVA courts per contract.

Maintain 10 outdoor clay courts by:

• Preparing courts for the season, including hanging awnings.
• Distributing material, rolling courts, supervising watering, hanging wind screens, correcting sprinkler malfunctions, and reporting issues.
• Providing water and ice as needed.
• Emptying trash and picking up balls.
• Repairing nets as needed.

Clean squash court walls and mop floors daily.

Maintain 4 outdoor hard courts by:

• Cleaning and picking up balls and trash.
• Providing water and ice.
• Repairing nets as needed.

Report maintenance issues promptly.

Perform housekeeping duties as needed, especially in winter.

Clean sidewalks around The Sports Club and Inn pool during summer.

Have irrigation knowledge for managing the watering system for clay courts.

Coordinate repairs and maintenance with the Tournament Director.

Train new team members on equipment use and standards.

Schedule team and maintenance activities.

Track hours and activities for the UVA stadium courts.

Shovel snow and remove ice in winter.

Report emergencies immediately.

Obtain and maintain CPR and AED certification.

Complete daily walk-throughs and reports.

Requirements:
