Job summary

The State of North Carolina's Department of Adult Correction, Division of Community Supervision, seeks a Judicial Services Coordinator (JSC) to work with judges, prosecutors, and community partners in Raleigh. You will manage intake, analyze court documents, assign probation cases, and coordinate services for offenders.

Typically based in a courthouse setting, the JSC helps maintain public awareness of the program, negotiates arrangements, and supports evidence-based supervision while ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, human services, psychology, or related field of study from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Associate degree in criminal justice, human services, psychology, or related field of study from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in the court system, paralegal work, or other directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of experience in the court system, paralegal work, or other directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Intake of all new supervised and unsupervised probation cases and monitoring unsupervised deferred prosecution cases.
• Inspect and process the legal documents of new probation cases and review court judgments.
• Match offenders’ skills to needs with consideration of history, condition, and transportation needs.
• Interact with judges, lawyers, and law enforcement to maintain program visibility and public awareness.
