Job summary

U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas is seeking an Information Technology Technician in the Sherman Division (Plano area) to deliver high-level user support across court employees, the bar, judges, and the public.

You will configure hardware/software, support courtroom AV, manage IT assets, and participate in a rotating on-call schedule with mandatory IT training. Travel to other divisions may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience installing, repairing, upgrading IT equipment and troubleshooting PCs/printers.
• Excellent customer service and professional demeanor.
• Sound judgment, integrity and discretion in handling information.
• Experience administering Windows environments and Microsoft 365.
• Ability to work in a team and manage time effectively.
• Strong communication and ability to explain technical concepts.

Responsibilities

• Respond to help desk calls/emails, log issues in ticketing system, resolve routine to complex problems.
• Provide training and assistance on applications and hardware.
• Configure/install PC hardware/software; support peripherals.
• Prepare and maintain end-user documentation and SOPs.
• Support telephone systems, including moves/adds/changes.
• Provide technical support for courtroom/conference room AV equipment.
• Maintain IT inventory per policy; perform audits.
• Evaluate and test new OS, software, and workstation hardware.
• Monitor day-to-day technology operations.
• Support iOS devices; enforce device policies and security.
• Occasional travel to other divisions; participate in on-call rota.
• Complete mandatory IT training and continuing education.
