Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court is seeking a Judicial Specialist 2 in Mosquero, NM. The role involves using the case management system to open, docket, and close cases, handle hearings, and manage court documents.

Customer service is provided to a high volume of pro se litigants, without giving legal advice. The position requires attention to court procedures, accurate cash handling, and coordination with Specialty Court Programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience in court processing or related field.
• Typing certification may be required.
• Knowledge of court procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Open, docket, and close cases using the case management system.
• Provide general procedural information to pro se litigants without giving legal advice.
• Open cases, determine type, assess filing fees, and enter data.
• Docket and close cases with appropriate codes and details.
• Handle cash receipts, deposits, and reconciliations; follow cash handling procedures.
• Process, maintain, and distribute documents and case materials.
• Review filings for format, signatures, codes, and fees.
• Prepare court notices, orders, and other documents.
• Support jury management and prepare seating charts for trials.
• Coordinate with Specialty Programs and other courts as needed.
