Job summary

The Judge’s Bailiff II at Tarrant County is responsible for assisting with daily court operations, providing security and safety in courtrooms, handling inmates, witnesses and clients, and making arrests when necessary. This on-site role requires firearm qualification, strong customer service, and the ability to manage multiple tasks, budgets, and coordination with court staff.

Candidates must have high school diploma or GED, two years law enforcement experience, TCLEOSE certification, and

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and two years law enforcement experience.
• Peace Officer Certification through TCLEOSE.
• Working knowledge of the Court.
• Mandatory firearms qualification and physical training.
• Dependable transportation for the delivery of subpoenas.

Responsibilities

• Provides security and support functions to the Judge and staff.
• Support functions include making arrests and executing warrants.
• Maintains and secures the courtroom.
• Maintains excellent public, staff and court relationships during the course of business.
• Transports inmates from jail to court and return to jail after court appearance.
• Checks and updates court dockets prior to scheduled docket dates.
• Performs administrative duties such as answering the phone, preparing yearly budget, scheduling appointments, and related clerical tasks.
• Confirms active warrants and makes arrests; follows the Code of Judicial Conduct.
• Assists Court in obtaining and providing services relating to jury activities.
• Uses computer to order prisoners for court appearances.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
