Job summary

Rutgers University-Camden, School of Nursing Camden, is hiring Course Assistants for the 2026-2027 academic year to support nursing faculty, assist in didactic courses, tutoring, and lab and simulation spaces.

Applicants must have a BSN with 2 years nursing experience; MSN preferred. Duties include grading, tutoring, office hours, exam reviews, and biweekly activity reports. Multiple positions available.

Qualifications

  • Minimum BSN with 2 years nursing experience; MSN preferred.
  • Post-baccalaureate qualifications may be considered for higher level roles.
  • MSN preferred indicates advanced nursing credentials are valued.

Responsibilities

  • Assist course professors in grading papers, case studies, and submissions.
  • Complete administrative work in a timely manner as needed by professors.
  • Maintain regular office hours, in-person or virtual.
  • Oversee recitation sessions and provide exam reviews.
  • Provide tutoring and lab/simulation support for course content.
  • Proctor live exams on campus when needed.
  • Submit biweekly activity reports.

Posting Summary: Rutgers University-Camden, the School of Nursing (SNC), is hiring Course Assistants for the 2026-2027 academic year. Course Assistants will be utilized in the SNC to assist in the student learning process and to promote student success each semester. Course Assistants may be hired to either assist the nursing faculty who teach didactic (theory) courses with administrative duties, to serve as subject matter tutors, or as lab and simulation support. Applicants must possess the relevant clinical expertise and experience for the assigned courses. Multiple positions available.

Duties May Include
  • Assist course professors in grading papers, case studies, discussion boards, ATI or educational resource submissions.
  • Complete all administrative work in a timely manner, as needed by course professors.
  • Keep regular, in-person or virtual office hours as outlined in contract.
  • Oversee recitation sessions at the direction and request of course professors.
  • Provide exam reviews at the direction and request of course professors.
  • Provide small group and individual tutoring related to course content, test taking, and student success strategies.
  • Provide classroom support, under direction of course professors, in lab and simulation spaces.
  • When needed, proctor live exams (on campus).
  • Act as a role model for professional nursing by communicating in a professional and timely manner with course professors, staff, and students.
  • Submit a biweekly report of activity.
