Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, hires married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus homes, supervising 8‑13 students, and fostering a structured, family-like environment.

Responsibilities include daily supervision, scheduling, medications, driving to activities, devotions, and budgeting. Initial nine days on, three off, with potential transition to a placed houseparent role. Benefits and relocation support are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses aged 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff serve as role models.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and monitor student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and plan developmental and recreational events.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
