Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA seeks married couples for full-time Flex Houseparents who live on campus and care for a group of 8–13 students in a family-like home, providing guidance, structure, and supervision to help them grow academically, emotionally, and socially.

Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing routines, transporting students to activities, leading devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person couple role, married at least two years.
• Both spouses aged 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children in the home.
• Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet restrictions: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited).
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff serve as role models.

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental and recreational events.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
