Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) seeks a couple to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents on campus in Hershey, PA. You will provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of 8-13 students in a family-like home environment.

Positions require that both spouses be married for at least two years, age 27+, and able to live on campus with a shared schedule of nine days on, three off. Responsibilities include devotions, chapel, budgeting, and safety responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth (reliable mentorship and supervision).
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited).
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff serve as role models.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
