Job summary

Milton Hershey School seeks a married couple to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents on its on-campus student homes in Hershey, PA. The role includes supervising 8–13 students, guiding their daily routines, and supporting their academic, emotional, and social development.

The position begins with a nine-on/three-off schedule and may transition into a placed houseparent role with continued housing, meals, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and monitor student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and participate in developmental/recreational activities.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
• Work nine days on duty followed by three days off; transition to placed houseparent.
