Job summary

Howard County Public School System is seeking a part‑time leader to coordinate the Scholars Leadership Honors Program across the county. You will work with school administrators and community partners to support student success and well‑being.

The role involves coordinating meetings, guiding student leaders, engaging families, and analyzing program data each quarter to inform decisions and strengthen outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent in education, social science, or related field.
• Demonstrated ability to support diverse high school students and families in U.S. education settings.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong interpersonal skills with administrators, staff, students, families, and other stakeholders.
• Proficiency with web-based productivity and collaboration tools (Google Suite preferred or Microsoft Office Suite).

Responsibilities

• Lead the Scholars Leadership Honors Program countywide and oversee school chapters.
• Plan quarterly meetings with SLHP Advisors for professional learning.
• Collaborate with school-based advisors to select and invite students for participation.
• Engage families through meetings to explain goals, resources and program impact.
• Direct the Scholar System-wide Team and empower students in planning events and community activities.
• Support students’ academic, social, college and career readiness needs.
• Collect and analyze academic data and report it to staff after each quarter.
• Develop and support SLHP activities and a program calendar.
• Assist advisors with monitor­ing Scholars’ performance and probation/dismissal letters as needed.
• Assist Scholars in community service projects, college essays, inventories and references.
