Job summary

Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) seeks a part-time Scholars Leadership Honors Program Advisor to lead the countywide program across thirteen high school chapters. The role coordinates with school-based administrators and community partners to address academic and social-emotional learning factors influencing student success.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in education, social science, or related field (must upload).
• Demonstrated experience supporting diverse high school students and families in US settings.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead the Scholars Leadership Honors Program countywide.
• Facilitate quarterly meetings with SLHP Advisors for professional learning.
• Collaborate with school-based advisors to select and invite students to participate.
• Organize parent and family engagement meetings to explain goals and resources.
• Mentor the student-led Scholar System-wide Team and guide community activities.
• Monitor academic, social, college, and career readiness needs of Scholars.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and evaluation of Scholars.
