Job summary

Brown County is seeking a County Surveyor to plan, organize, direct and monitor operations for the preservation and maintenance of Public Land Survey System corners and survey records. The role requires supervision of field crews and coordination with DOT and highway departments to ensure monuments are properly maintained and recorded.

The position involves research of records, preparing certified reports, drafting contracts, and maintaining digital maps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying or related field.
• Knowledge of land surveying, boundary laws and state statutes.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the public and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, directs and monitors operations for preservation and maintenance of PLS corners and survey records.
• Hires, supervises, plans, coordinates and assigns work of others in the Survey division.
• Directs field personnel and provides leadership for field and office operations.
