Job summary

Amador County is seeking a highly experienced County Surveyor to plan, direct, and manage the County Surveyor’s Office. You will certify survey and subdivision maps, ensure compliance with state laws, and supervise staff to maintain accurate records and descriptions.

The role involves overseeing land division, maintaining a uniform house numbering system, and coordinating with public agencies and boards to implement policies related to surveying and mapping.

Qualifications

• Five years of professional engineering and land surveying experience.
• Two years in lead or supervisory role preferred.
• Advanced training in civil engineering and land surveying.
• Ability to certify survey and subdivision maps per state and local laws.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and manage the County Surveyor functions and operations.
• Review and certify survey and subdivision maps; ensure compliance with state laws and ordinances.
• Oversee development and maintenance of land descriptions and official maps.
• Disseminate official maps to the public and other agencies; coordinate with governing boards.
• Supervise the County Surveyor’s Office staff and provide staff training and evaluation.
