Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess a current and valid license to practice Land Surveying in the State of California or be a Registered Civil Engineer authorized to practice land surveying in California.
• Three years of land surveying experience and one year of full-scope supervisory experience.
• Direct supervision of a staff involved in land surveying, and coordination with County officials and private engineers and surveyors.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct surveying operations.
• Supervise through subordinate supervisors and oversee reports, cost estimates, and specifications for surveying, mapping, and long-range work programs.
• Review and approve complex Record of Survey maps; confer with County officials, agencies, and engineers on boundary and surveying matters; serve as expert witness and consultant to County Counsel; develop and monitor the division budget; review legislation for impact.

Education

California Land Surveying license or Civil Engineer license authorized to practice land surveying in CA
