Job summary

The West Virginia Department of Highways is seeking a Harrison County Administrator to lead all administrative and field operations, direct staff, manage budgets, and oversee maintenance and emergency programs.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree with four years of related experience, including two years in a supervisory role, plus a valid driver’s license; CDL progress and performance appraisals are part of the duties. Apply through the state portal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in highway construction or maintenance, traffic control and sign maintenance, business or public administration, transportation, construction, manufacturing, mining, or the armed forces; two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Direct office staff and oversee administrative operations.
• Manage county budgets and annual maintenance plans.
• Coordinate emergency and seasonal programs including snow/ice control and FEMA logistics.
• Review timesheets, overtime, and administrative forms; liaise at County Commission and City Council meetings.
