Job summary

NC State University seeks a County Extension Director to provide visionary leadership for a comprehensive Extension program across Bertie County. You will coordinate an interdisciplinary staff, develop educational programming, and manage resources with strong collaboration with county government and NC State University administration.

Qualifications

• Exceptional communication, managerial and leadership abilities.
• Public relations skills and the ability to connect local program needs with NC State University’s missions.
• Leadership in Extension programming and management; supervisory experience.
• Skills in human relations, negotiation, and team building; experience securing outside funding.
• Experience with administration, budgeting, and external relations; ability to plan and organize.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership for a comprehensive Extension program at the county level.
• Coordinate staff development, training, evaluations, and alignment of work responsibilities.
• Organize and allocate resources, marketing, budgeting, and maintain administrative relationships.
• Collaborate with county government, university administration, and external partners to deliver educational programming.
• Travel within the district and occasional travel outside the district; travel reimbursed per state guidelines.
