Job summary

Axon is seeking a Field Operations Test Engineer II (Onsite) based in our Sterling, VA office, with a hybrid schedule. This role will lead range operations and test and evaluation across Axon’s Counter-UAS portfolio, coordinating activities and defining evaluation criteria for real-world conditions.

You will monitor evolving UAS threats, advise product teams on technology choices, engage with customers and field personnel, and help ensure safe, secure range operations.

Qualifications

• Experience leading test & evaluation activities in complex sensor systems.
• Ability to translate threat intel into product requirements.
• Strong collaboration with product, engineering and sales teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and lead test and evaluation activities across Dedrone's full product portfolio — RF sensors, radars, cameras, electronic warfare systems, kinetic defeat solutions, and integrated deployment configurations.
• Continuously monitor and analyze the evolving UAS threat landscape and translate intelligence into actionable product requirements.
• Advise product managers and engineering teams on technology tradeoffs, competitive positioning, and capability gaps.
• Provide input on sensor fusion strategies, detection-versus-defeat decisions, deployment configuration, and integration architecture.
• Partner with sales, solutions engineering, and customer success teams for technical evaluations and demonstrations.
