Position Summary

Professional Solutions1, LLC (ProSol) is seeking a highly qualified Counter-SIGMAN Instructor / Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide specialized tactical classroom instruction to Marines assigned to 2d Reconnaissance Battalion at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

The instructor will support a three-day Counter Signature Management (SIGMAN) training course consisting of 24 hours of instruction for up to 40 Marines.

Training will focus on identifying, analyzing, and mitigating multi-spectral signatures that can expose reconnaissance forces to detection by modern peer and near-peer adversary sensor systems. Instruction will include multi-spectral signature auditing, counter-UAS signature management, ground-sensor detection and mitigation, and integration of signature-management techniques into amphibious and ground Reconnaissance and Surveillance (R&S) operations.

The successful candidate must possess recent experience instructing military tactical units and a strong operational or technical background in SOF, reconnaissance, Electronic Warfare, SIGMAN, counter-UAS, cybersecurity/information operations, UAS operations, or related disciplines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Counter-SIGMAN Instructor / SME will:

  • Provide advanced classroom instruction to up to 40 Marines.
  • Remain onsite throughout the entire three-day instructional period.
  • Work collaboratively with the Lead Counter-SIGMAN Instructor and other ProSol personnel.
  • Deliver technically accurate, operationally relevant instruction tailored to reconnaissance personnel.
  • Answer advanced technical and tactical student questions.
  • Facilitate student discussions, tactical planning exercises, and case-study analysis.
  • Evaluate student understanding and mission-planning performance.
  • Assist in identifying recurring signature vulnerabilities and recommending mitigation techniques.
  • Support development and refinement of course presentations, student handouts, reference guides, and instructional materials.
Required Instructional Areas
Multi-Spectral Signature Auditing

Provide instruction concerning how adversaries employ multi-spectral detection systems and how reconnaissance teams can assess and reduce vulnerabilities across multiple signature domains.

Topics include:

  • Audio and acoustic signatures
  • Tactical movement and equipment noise
  • Electro-optical and visual signatures
  • Camouflage and concealment considerations
  • Infrared and thermal signatures
  • Near-Infrared detection
  • Thermal footprint reduction
  • Electromagnetic and RF signatures
  • Wireless signals
  • Appropriate tactical waveform employment

Counter-UAS Signature Auditing

Provide instruction on:

  • Type 1 and Type 2 UAS capabilities
  • UAS sensor capabilities
  • Detection thresholds
  • Thermal-signature mitigation
Counter Ground-Sensor Auditing

Provide instruction concerning:

  • Seismic sensors
  • Acoustic sensors
  • Infrared sensors
  • Magnetic sensors
  • Active sensor systems
  • Passive sensor systems
  • Recognition of possible sensor arrays
  • Sensor detection and bypass considerations
Reconnaissance and Surveillance Integration

Assist students in integrating:

  • Multi-spectral SIGMAN
  • Threat analysis

into the planning and execution of amphibious and ground R&S missions.

Facilitate:

  • Tactical mission-planning exercises
  • Student-led planning
  • Instructor-led reviews
  • Tactical discussions
Course Evaluation and Deliverable Support

The instructor will assist the Lead Instructor and ProSol program management with required course products, including:

  • Daily summaries of student progress
  • Key learning outcomes
  • Instructional highlights
  • Certificates of Completion
  • Student mission-planning assessments
  • Identification of systemic signature vulnerabilities
  • Tactical training recommendations
  • Final After-Action Report input

Daily course summaries are required for delivery to the 2d Reconnaissance Battalion Training Cell by 0800 the following morning.

The final comprehensive AAR must be completed within five business days after course completion.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

  • A minimum of three years of experience within the previous five years instructing military tactical units in one or more of the following:
    • Multi-spectral SIGMAN
    • Electronic signature analysis
    • Cyber footprint auditing
  • Instructional experience supporting:
    • Special Operations Forces; and/or
    • Conventional military reconnaissance units
  • A documented SOF or reconnaissance-related operational or professional background.
  • A documented military or industry-recognized certification in at least one of the following areas:
    • Electronic Warfare
    • Cybersecurity
    • Information Operations
    • Unmanned Aircraft Systems operations
  • Demonstrated tactical instructional skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to explain complex sensor, signature, electronic, and threat concepts to military students.
  • Ability to evaluate tactical mission planning and provide constructive operational feedback.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with another senior SME instructor.
  • Ability to meet Marine Corps Base Camp Camp Lejeune installation-access requirements.

Candidates must also be available for reasonable course preparation before execution and limited post-course reporting support following completion.

This is a classroom-based instructional requirement located at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

No field maneuvers, live tactical vehicle operations, role players, or live-fly UAS operations are required.

The Government will provide a classroom with standard audiovisual equipment. ProSol will provide required curriculum, student materials, reference materials, and applicable passive/non-radiating instructional aids.

Security / Installation Access

The Performance Work Statement does not identify a required security-clearance level for this position.

The selected instructor must successfully satisfy Camp Lejeune contractor vetting and installation-access requirements before performance.
