Description
Bodega Taqueria Y Tequila is seeking a dynamic and experienced Counter Server to join our team. As a Counter Server, you will serve food and beverage items to customers in a friendly, enthusiastic, professional, and timely manner from our Taqueria Airstream. You will provide friendly, courteous, and efficient service to ensure guests have an optimal experience. Additionally, you will support packaging and delivery preparation of online and take-out orders. This role requires a passion for hospitality and attention to detail. The individual reports to the General Manager or Assistant General Manager in their absence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Team Collaboration
- Create and maintain a positive work environment, fostering teamwork and growth.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff and team members for smooth operations.
- Communicate customer feedback and requests to management.
- Assist with restocking supplies and inventory management.
- Partner with third-party contacts for timely order delivery.
- Collaborate on planning and executing events and promotions.
Quality Control
- Maintain stock of supplies and monitor inventory levels.
- Ensure ingredient quality and address spoilage or quantity issues.
- Develop beverage knowledge including ingredients and preparation.
Operations Support
- Familiarize with menu items, specials, and promotions to upsell.
- Suggest complementary menu items.
- Perform setup duties and food preparation following standards.
Customer Service
- Ensure responsible alcohol service.
- Create a welcoming atmosphere and engage with guests.
- Communicate effectively and respond to guest requests.
- Maintain professionalism during busy periods.
Compliance and Safety
- Follow health and safety regulations and policies.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of food and alcohol.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in customer service or food service preferred.
- Basic math and cash handling skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Knowledge of food safety practices.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- High professional integrity and safety awareness.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
